Beasly Knob 2016 Retry -update- 10-22

Postby egagnon086 » Mon Aug 08, 2016 1:00 pm

The Spring run was cancelled due to many folks having truck issues. I want to have another go at it this fall, it should be nice with all the kids back in school and weather to cool off abit.

10.6 miles of trails ranging from difficult to most difficult.

Come and enjoy the cool weather of the GA mountains during the summer.

Trail fee $5 bucks per day.

Please insure you have the proper safety/recovery gear for/on your vehicle and yourself/passengers.

My plan is doing this on a Saturday and hitting as much of the trails as we can. Beasley and maybe Charlie's creek.

I'm Planning on sometime in October, maybe the 15th or 22nd. Let me know if there is any interest. I hate to go it alone.

I am definitely interested. I don't want to submit a vote until I see how my work schedule is and can commit.

That would be fun, I can tell you from one of my last trips that your frontier will make it just about anywhere on this trail, but may be abit wide for some of the narrow spots. Back in 2015, one of the guys brought his frontier and ended up scraping the sides up pretty bad.

There is good camping spots here aswell if you wanted to spend the night or something.

While my wife would much rather ride down in the frontier, I would put my foot down and take the amigo. Been extremely busy and working Saturdays but I know I can get off October 7-9. Ill see about the other dates. My wife and I would probably go down Friday afternoon and camp, possibly camp Saturday night too.

Sounds good. We would camp (or hotel) so we could be down there bright and early. How are the trails? I have plenty of dents and scratches so that's not really a concern, but I don't have a rear locker (yet..). I am pretty good with my redneck LSD aka parking brake and airing the tires (32x11.50) down to around 15 psi gets me around pretty good. Everything is pretty stout on it, bilstien shocks and Independent 4x4 tie rods. I replaced the ball joints last winter and have new u-joints plus spares. All my weak links have been addressed, don't worry Im not showing up with a basketcase. Did I just jinx myself?
