I love Gilberts Trooper. Any clue what size tires he's running now, they look a little bigger than 35s to me?

Does he wheel it hard? Curious how those big swampers are to CVs. Not gentle I'd imagine.

No they aren't, he has replaced CVs a bunch of times, way more than I have.

That's what I figured. He might want to look into cyro treating them if he really wants to stay IFS.

Dang, I didn't know Gilbert even took the Trooper out anymore. He used to be in my 4x4 club. That Trooper does not like all the weight, and it suffers odd breakage on trips from time to time. I'm not a fan of those tires at all. Back in the day they were OK if you had a rig that could handle the mass. I'd say the Trooper is not such a rig. There are better tire choices now. Far better.

If you want, I should be able to get Gilbert to reply here. He is a real good guy, and loves talking about his cars, but it sounds like you all know him too. :)

Jeep with the Brute conversion /kit / whatever is awesome. If I ever own a jeep that will be it.

I hate hate hate Defenders. I cannot fathom how people can want to ride around in them for long periods of time, I.e "expedition" in them. In Germany we used them as work trucks in the vineyards. So cramped in the drivers seat, that used to make sure I was the last one to the truck so I didn't have to drive and could ride in the back.

I know Gilbert from Moab ZuZoo...been several years since I had seen him though. He said he is going to get the Trooper out more, so we'll see what that means.

I'm not sure he has ever done a diff drop on that Trooper, might help.
