Spring Beasley Knob - April 14th (Good Friday)

Postby egagnon086 » Mon Mar 27, 2017 11:57 am

Come one, Come all, Test your skills. Meet up 8:30 AM in Dahlonega near 400.

10.6 miles of trails ranging from difficult to most difficult.

Come and enjoy the cool weather of the GA mountains during the summer.

Trail fee $5 bucks per day.

Please insure you have the proper safety/recovery gear for/on your vehicle and yourself/passengers.

My plan is doing this on a Friday 14th and hitting as much of the trails as we can. If it gets to busy we can head to several other "good" trails.

Beasley, Then maybe head down some "forest roads".

Just was reminded by my better half that the 16th is easter sunday. So that is a no go.

I also just found out I have the day off on Friday the 14th, so that may be a great day to get out and ride. Can anyone make it on April 14th?

I wouldn't mind heading up there sometime soon, unfortunately, that's less than two weeks before Uwharrie, so it's a no go for me. Also, although, a little time at Beasley is a good thing, I'd prefer to spend a majority of the time exploring the forest service roads. So a weekend would be better I think.

So its been settled, Friday the 14th. Early-ish meet up.

If you can't make it this time, I'm going to try and schedule something in late May or June, see if we can have a little camp out weekend or something like that.

Hope to see you there, PM me if you have any questions.

So this was a good time for the GA Zu Cru, we had 3 Zus and a 2nd gen Jeep Grand Cherokee with us. They have done some great trail maintenance this year and opened a lot of the closed trails, They also bypassed the super dangerous part near the top, No loss there. It started as a great dry day as the pictures will show, Then when we reached the top of the mtn it started pouring rain. It made for an interesting ride out. For all those that couldn't make it, Shoot me some times that work for you and Ill try and organize another outing this summer and again in the fall.

To commence with Epic picture post. I will post links to the Youtube vids:
