1990 Trooper brake warning light

Postby Shaftoe » Mon Jan 02, 2017 8:28 pm

Hi all,

The e-brake warning light in the dashboard won't go out. I verified that the problem is not with the mechanical switch at the base of the pull-handle and I metered around on the little board in the light cluster to find that the circuit was grounded all the time but couldn't trace the problem. For now, I've just removed the bulb, but I'd like a better solution... Any ideas about where to look?

Thanks!!

Check the brake fluid level. If its not low make sure the float inside the reservoir isnt stuck near the bottom. There is also a switch on the ebrake that can go bad leaving the circuit open and the light on
