Keyless entry programming 2002 trooper

Postby Reynoldsrr63 » Sun Apr 23, 2017 10:25 pm

I bought a 2002 Trooper Limited a couple years back, was never given a remote for keyless entry. I just finally got around to buying a pair of remotes, but now I can't seem to get it to reprogram to except them. Door open, key in, switch to ACC & lock 3 times in 3 seconds, close & open door twice, switch to ACC & lock 3 times in 3 seconds, close & open once, locks should cycle, but I can't seem to make that happen. Could I have some other issue besides not timing it right? Vehicle has power door locks, power windows, & there's an anti-theft light that binks. Help please!

What is the FCC ID number stamped on the back of the remote?

The remotes I bought are blank on the back, that isn't the issue (yet) I can't even get the vehicle to enter program mode to even see if it will reprogram to the new remotes.

Can someone tell me where the keyless entry module is and how to tell if it's good or not?

If the power door locks work the module is probably working.
You will have to remove the lower dash pad to gain access.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Power door locks work using interior switchs and turning key in door locks twice opens all locks (driver's door and passenger's door only not rear door, rear door lock only unlocks rear door)
