Three wires. Throttle position sensor?

Dont think its the position sensor. Got that hooked up as well Cant really find anything on the head that is missing unless that wire connect to something in the engine bay that I dont see.

Here is another front picture of the connector.

I'm thinking that is the 2-wire connector for the EGR temp sensor. California spec vehicles had an extra circuit to feed that temp info to the ECM and if things were not copacetic then you'd get a Check Engine Light (CEL). If the emissions tab under the hood says Federal then you can probably ignore it as a CA only thing. And as far as I know is specific to the 2.6 liter 4ZE1 motors.

Is there any other way to distinguish if this truck is California spec? Not sure what happened, but my hood doesn't have anything under it not even a vacuum diagram. Where would I find the EGR temp sensor if I do have a California spec truck?
