I don't think the 272 is gonna enable the Trooper climb up to the tunnel that much better. That is one heck of a climb from either side for a 4-banger truck. Prolly best to just resign yourself to third gear and enjoy the scenery.

The 272 was an utterly useless cam in my 1991 Amigo 2.6
Tried every option to make it work. From everything from 8* timing to 16* in a systematic order. The engine was a dog on bottom, and a dog on top. WOT was required at all times to have any sort of decent acceleration on highway. It might be usable with a bunch of extra compression, and full intake exhaust however in my opinion, anyone who says that its a "top end cam" is a damn fool. It was useless. Not to mention tons of Valve noise. Set at .007". double checked multiple times. I ran it about 8 months.
On a side note...
I'm selling a perfectly good Delta 272 camshaft!
(actually I'll probably turn it into a Lamp)
