how do you set ignition timing 2.6 engine where do you set the timing at.
what degree for timing .
1995 isuzu 4x4 pickup|2.6 4cyl|5spd|3 inch body lift|2.5 inch suspension lift|33 inch treadwright wardens|indy4x hd tie rods|custom winch mount|12000 lb winch|extreme high lift jack|off road lights|front and rear aussie lockers|1.5 inch diff/crossmember drop|sway a way hd torsion bars|jeep trail rated badge|moog ball joints|moog center link|precision cv axle boots|optima battery|skyjacker steering stabilizer|tinted windows|bedliner|window rain guards|Indy4x braided brake lines|indy4x sway bar bushings|exedy daikin clutch kit|revolution 3.07 transfer case gears
Recent 2.6 rebuild with a "Jerry Cam"all parts for engine rebuild came from Jerry Lemond. Bored .40 thounsands and Engine rebuid performed by Johnny 5 .
Latest modification i sa 2.6 all parts from Jerry Lemond including a "Jerry Cam" 40 bored over
pistons. Engine built by the legendary Johnny 5

That thread mostly discusses cam timing. According to Jerry, you don't disconnect anything. You just connect your timing light to the #4 spark plug lead and set timing at 6 BTDC at 800 rpm. However, you need to make sure your timing mark on the damper didn't slip. I personally, rarely use a timing light. I advance the distributor a little bit and take it for a test drive up a long steep hill I have nearby. I keep advancing until I get pinging or and then back it off a hair.

:D Thanks.So I just connect timing light to # 4 plug wire.I was trying to set the timing connected to # 1 plug wire.

Yes, #1 and #4 are a TDC at the same time, but the TDC mark on the balancer is for #4 compression stroke.
