Initial test was a no go. I pressurized the fuel system and some of my fuel lines and fittings are leaking. So I stopped there. I found a Johnson dealer that has the exact right lines and clamps. So I hope to pick those up tomorrow morning. Normal stuff when you make this many changes.

That is a good attitude. With so many lines, I am not surprised you have some leaks.

When you go through stuff the way I do there will always be bugs to work out.

Getting closer everyday. Picked up the exact right fuel and primer lines today. Got them installed and fuel leaks seem to be solved.

Next issue was that I must have killed the starting battery when we flooded the battery box last year. Just like the similar age Optima that died in Red beans a while back. Looks good on the charger and shows good voltage. But nobody home when amperage is needed. it wouldn't crank the motor with the plugs in. I checked the stamp on top. May of 2006. 10 years old. I got my money out of this one. I'll replace it with a group 24 AGM in the morning.

I used a trolling motor battery and I did get the motor started. It seems to be running fine. But I need to check the timing and adjust the linkages. It won't idle down where I want it yet. One step at a time it's getting there.

It's not much consolation, but you didn't really "sunk" your boat. You sank it. Sounds weird, I know.

And that was a brilliant recovery, too! Glad you're making progress.

Looking back I sank it last year. But at the time it sunk! I watched it happen. Gave me a real sinking feeling.

I thought I had it running yesterday in the drive pretty good. Took an hour and a 1/2 drive to the river and put it in the water. Then spent 1/2 an hour trying to get it started and no go. Back on the trailer. My batting average has taken a total dump lately! The control cables are hanging up some. They are OLD. So new ones were ordered today.

Looks like your luck with this boat and my luck with the trooper have been hanging out.

The boat is back on the water as of the day before yesterday. Finally got some rain and some water n the Potomac. I got the boat out and did some fishing. It's running good and no leaks at all.
