That's a neat little gun. I think the price is a bit steep though. I recently picked up a Keltec P3AT as a pocket gun, which is about as small and light as they come.
Yea, but street price will probably be 25% or more lower than that. Also many people have given up the advantage a revolver has over an auto for the sake of portability, and this evens the playing field a bit.
Glocks you either love them or hate them. I am on the lover list. I have a Model 27 that I bought to carry.
There are others out there but I really like my Glock.
It is a good carry size but when you can carry a .380 like the little pocket pistol Ruger is making. It'd be nice to have a smaller pistol that's a bit easier to carry.
I can see the market for the little wheel gun, there are those that will only carry a revolver. From a reliability standpoint there is not a gun out there that can stand up to the revolver. Autos are typically more finicky, save the Glocks. They tend to do well in whatever circumstances.
I'll not be getting one, I still have my eye on my Avatar. I will own one, just need to get my garage finished and quit spending money on other stuff.
I dont love or hate them, just think they are over done and over priced. Tired of hearing Glock Glock Glock. I like to be different, thats why I drive an Isuzu and own pretty much all Rugers
"The LCP is great. I've been on the list for one since Sept. If you got one to sell I've got the $$ to buy. If you don't have one, STFU." Well that's a quote. I have been on a list since Oct. When I ask people LCP "haters" they do/have not have one to sell. Anyway, I think the LCR is a overpriced. I think the LCP, recall or not, is a hell of deal.
I've got nothing against the LCP. I dont want one but I'm not a hater. Just saying with the problems with the LCP and SR9 both being recalled shortly after release I hope the LCR doesnt have any problems. I think the recalls on them hurt ruger a little bit and would like to see the new releases have no problems.
You'll see the LCR for alot less then MSRP, especially once production is ramped up and there's no back order. The MSRP on the KP944 I bought in september is $628 and I bought mine new from a local gun shop for $470. They arent the cheapest place to buy either, but were alot cheaper then gander mountain and they are close by.
ah...yes, the 1911A1, its the only auto that can possibly stand a chance up to the reliability of a revolver in my humble opinion. A true man stopper as well. Dont go cheap on them....get a good one, and with good ammo, you might get a jam/stovetop every 5k rounds or so.
