This year I decided I would not borrow any more chainsaws and that I should buy one for myself. I did what I usually do, and read about chainsaws until I tripled my budget.

I made the mistake of getting into chainsaws this last fall. I grew up running Jonsereds saws in NH, and decided to seek them out here in the PNW. I've capped off my collection at 9 saws total. I have a 111S, an 80/90 (that is a Jonsereds 80 with a 90cc cylinder) two 70E's, two 52E's, a 2036, a Stihl 034AV Super, and a non-running old Skil. Pics soon, I promise.

In currently between saws right now, but I've got access to an old two man Maul saw with an 8ft bar. You know, just in case I need to cut a little firewood.

My grandfather used to have an old 2 man chainsaw. You got to be crazy! I think a 2 man chainsaw is about as safe as using a running outboard motor to scratch your doodads!

My dad bought this one when I was much younger. I recall it had been sitting for a decade then and the fuel tank was full of gummed up funk and varnish but it still fired over a bit when we pulled the rope. It looks something like the closest two on the left in this pic e except it has the gear box that rotates to turn the bar horizontal.

It's been many years since I saw my grandfathers. It had a vertical handle on the non powered end. When I was a kid I thought it was so cool. Never saw it in use. After years of using saws it just gives me the willie's. Chainsaws are potentially dangerous when just one is using it. I'd have to have ultimate trust in the man on the powerhead to ever hold the tip end.
My thoughts go to working with ladders my whole life. Every time someone goes to help you with a ladder you are moving or folding. Someone gets their hands pinched.

My only two complaints against Stihl is clogging air filters and absurd resale prices. But they do make a fine saw!

My small around the yard saw is an echo cs306, I can let it sit for month and it'll fire right up, my bigger saw is an early model poulan 306a back when they were still made to last, loudest thing ever but it'll cut whatever you put it on, I have a 20 in bar on it now and could probably get away with running a 24 on it

I work at an Auto Parts Store and we sell an assortment of weedeaters, saws, and even Mahindra tractors. I must say that of every saw I've used the Jonsered saws we sell are the toughest out there. Some cross over to their light duty Husq. counterparts, but for the most part they are a Husq. on steroids.
