I know for certain the connectors are different, with the diesel tach being a slightly larger connector, so the wiring is not just a simple "plug-n-play," unfortunately.
I don't have the connections worked out yet, but that will happen in the next week or two, as I've got to get it done, so the owner can come pick it up.
