Actively seeking:
1993-1995.5 Rodeo with 3.2L V6
1992-1995 Trooper

Requirements:
1) Non-smoker
2) Manual transmission
3) Clear VA title in your name
4) Current VA inspection and registration
5) No check engine lights
6) Little to no frame/body rust
7) No flooding
8) No major accidents; if minor accidents, must have no frame or body bending/warping
9) Must be able to send current pictures before meeting

Notes:
1) Minor scratches or dents okay
2) Minor mechanical issues okay
3) Minor to mild paint issues okay
4) Definitely open to high mileage if the truck has been cared for
5) I am familiar with the infamous Isuzu "lifter tick" and it doesn't bother me as long as I can hear somebody talking beside the truck

In case it needs to stated again, I am a serious buyer; I don't have the free time to go around tire-kicking or joy-riding. I live in Norfolk and am willing to drive as far as Richmond (or somewhere within a similiar radius) to check out your truck.

I usually check my email every few hours; if your truck sounds good we can text or whatever you prefer.

Thanks for your time.

Genuinely nobody interested? In the month I've been here, I've seen as many Troopers as I would've during a year in Dallas. I know I'm asking for pretty narrow year range, but still..

Clean ones of that age are pretty rare now... those who took great care of them might not want to part with them. My passport is in your demographic so to speak and I won't sell it unless it severely blew up, at 220k miles its still running very strong and has been the most dependable vehicle I have owned in 37 years driving.
Maybe you might have some luck in your area just keeping an eye out for cream puff examples and putting a business card or note on them asking if they want to sell.
The fact these are "orphaned" vehicles (brand or manufacturer discontinued) makes the resale market kind of strange. On one hand values plummeted at the time Isuzu pulled the plug and parts scarcity is now being realized which frightens people away.
So for what you are looking for the market is soft you should find them cheap.
OTOH there are those who feel there is collector value even in a japanese brand and in a few cases (particularly the Vehicross, think Jalopnik did a writeup last year predicting its collector value) they may be right.
Most of us however are just driving them as long as we can since we cant afford newer.
(Got mine for $500 in 2007.)
BTW love Virginia Beach, spent 6 months at NAS Oceana going to school in the Navy in 1980. Or maybe I would just love being 18 again.

Yep, that was the conclusion i was moving toward (thanks for chipping in, though). Just really makes my blood boil because i saw half a dozen listings on Craigslist that ticked most of (if not all) my boxes in the months before i moved here, yet it's been bone dry since i got settled in and got the funds built up.

Cool to find a fellow Jalopnik reader here, though their Future Classics articles have often addressed underappreciated cars that i was already trying find, making the hunt even harder.

And i hadn't considered the business cards idea. I'd be down for that if didn't entail snooping around somebody's car in broad daylight. Even still, may give it shot.

This area is in some ways better than Dallas (especially since i very literally almost died from heat stroke last July) and the people overall are much nicer, but the old wisdom about taking stuff for granted applies to all things and "no state income tax" is certainly one them.
