At least the Raider is rolling. Hopefully, the frame will stay in one piece. Sounds like you have to do a transplant. Maybe find one with a blown motor.

Supposedly according to a Fabricator buddy "he has seen worse", and would cut out and rebuild my frame in that section for $500. We will see. I have 2 sitting in the back that have good frames, so there is always that option.

Eli,

I went the fab route on my first (red) Trooper. I do not recommend it.

1. Even if you cut out the bad sections, the problem tends to show up somewhere else.
2. Everything takes longer to complete because the bolts are all seized. So you end up breaking bolts, cuzzing and then drilling them out, not to mention the cracked knuckles.

I ended up getting a Southern truck (the white Trooper) and transferring my good parts. If you have 2 trucks with good frames sitting in the yard, I'd definitely save the $500 and go that route. Even if it costs you a little more time and funds in the short run, trust me, you will be better of in the long run.

I'm a maybe and looking at sites 13 or 15. I was in a motorcycle accident recently. A lady decided she didn't want to wait for me to stop and make a left turn. She crossed the double yellow lines as if to pass or go around me as I was turning left and and pin my leg between her bumper/tire and my R1. I'm on crutches and don't know exactly when I will be off them. I plan on being there but will wait a little bit longer to decide and reserve a spot. I have been taking this time from work to hobble out to the garage and weld up some things. I strengthened all the things I bent last year, the center link, the idler arm and the tie rod ends. I'm also replacing all the control arm bushings and may strengthen the rear diff track arms. Hope to see everyone there.....and yes Scarlet wants to make the trip as well!
DONE: 02 Isuzu Trooper Limited, 10" custom lift, 7"suspension, 3"body. Calmini torsion bars indexed, Rusty's coil overs with pucks, fitted Rancho 5000 shocks, widened/welded brackets for shocks, extended front sway bar links, Independent4x extended brake lines, Independent4x steering extension, Independent4x HD tie rods with custom spindle/hub assembly insert for full +- travel, custom shortened cv axles and custom welded front diff drop brackets for full +- travel, upper and lower ball joint shims/wedges with Independent4x ball joins swap spacers for full +- travel, extended body safety hooks, extended e-brake brackets, extended shift linkage, extended transfer case shifter, 1.5" front wheel spacers, rebuilt engine, rebuilt trans withe the "playing with fire" front PWM pump swap, 300-400rpm lower stall torque converter, external trans cooler, Super Winch manual locking hubs, ARB front bumper with angled end caps, driving light inserts, and mounted PIAAS, front/rear custom 3" bumper brackets, Surco roof rack on custom Bosch extruded aluminum sliding frame to cover or expose sunroof, custom fog light wiring harness to allow roof rack travel, front fogs, side "camping" fogs and rear reverse fogs on rack, cold air intake, thrush high flow muffler, rodeo head rests front and rear, oh *!$!@*! grab handles drivers side, custom sound with 6" speakers in rear and two 12" subs, six 17" Moto Metal wheels with BFG TA KO 315s (35") tires

TO DO: Warn Winch and reinforce bumper brackets, custom rear bumper, Ausie lockers, rear jump seat, rear oh *!$!@*! handles left and right. tint windows, 1/4" - 1/2" rear wheel spacers, upgrade brakes to dual pistons and slotted, custom rock sliders, all new poly bushings, convert all lights to led.

MIGHT DO: Snorkel, air shocks with onboard compressor, roof rack tent, dual alternators and battery, cb, front Reese hitch, winch Reese mount for using front or rear.

I sifted back through the pictures from the Spring gathering and wasn't able to find conclusive evidence on whether or not people made it out on any of the kayak trips? If not, does anyone have any interest in trying to fit one or two in over the course of this upcoming gathering?

I actually had my solo canoe on the water for 3 days last spring. I may bring it again. A lot depends. I have my boat back on the water now so if the wife doesn't come I may bring that. If she does I'll be bringing the camper instead. Maybe with the canoe on the roof.

Yes I had my yak last time but was the only one so it just rode around on the roof of my trooper.

For those from GA do y'all normally all go caravan style or go your own way up there. I'm gonna try to attend this one, but don't want to get lost in SC/NC on the way to the woods.

You and me both bud! There's a cool looking cave that's right at the dam at the bottom of Badin lake that I've seen people canoe/kayak into, there are also a few on land in that area that you can crawl around in... although after seeing so many rattlesnakes out in those parts I'm not all that interested in doing the latter.
