Carolyn was going to take her Amigo, Esmerelda to URE whether it was wrapped, partially wrapped or not wrapped. It looked a little rough before hand, I admit. But when we finished it, she said, "I might actually drive this around town now". This is the woman with her own VX.

checklist for the weekend to prepare for the trip:
1.) pull the hubs and re-grease the wheel bearings
2.) also check brakes while I'm at it
3.) get the fuel tank cover mounted back on (broke 3 bolts when I replaced the fuel pump)
4.) pull camping items from the storage unit

The 89 for sure. The 93 is a parking lot queen. I want to keep it "nice" and plus it doesn't have all the off-road goodies (yet) that the 89 does

Bundle up! Winter storm warnings this weekend in the western Carloninas with a chance of SNOW! Long range forecast for Troy calls for a chance of snow on Sat and a low of 28 on Sun. But it looks like things get better next week with day time highs around 70 and night time lows in the low 40s.

Just booked site 46!
We'll be there early Friday evening and stay through Sunday. Bringing my 17 year-old Nephew and my two boys and they are STOKED!!!
Looking forward to wheelin' and visiting with everybody again.
Looks like it might be a little chilly at night so, I broke down and ordered a "Little Buddy" tent heater. Anybody have any experience with these? Seems like it should work well to keep the chill out of the tent.

Woohoo!

I don't have a Little Buddy, but have a small electric heater which on some occasions I had to turn down because it was TOO toasty inside the "shack" (aka tent). I've heard great things about them though so suspect it should do great.

These are the only way to go! Did you get the portable buddy or the little buddy? My only concern would be the tipping over one of those smaller ones that sits on top of the 1 lb tanks. I know the portable buddy heater has a tip over sensor, but not sure about the little buddy. I have two portables and they will run you out of a vehicle/tent! I always worry about kicking the sleeping bag into them when they are hot.

I won't make this one, but I am definitely wanting to come back out in the near future and ride along. I am heading to the Lawn Mower racing championship in Stevenson, AL this weekend  8)

I have the larger buddy heater and love it. It is more than enough to heat my popup. In fact, it gets so warm that I usually turn off the heater until the popup starts getting cold again. I like the fact that it has an auto shut off if it is knocked over or the O2 levels drop. The little buddy has the same safety features.

Be sure to keep enough propane handy. I was camping at GWNF with the temps in the teens a few years back and ran out. The spare bottles were in the truck and it took a lot of effort to leave the relative warmth of the sleeping bag to get another bottle.

I just had to cancel my reservation as well. Got a new boss and he wants to do a bunch of traveling this week and won't be back in NJ till late Friday night. Was really looking forward to making it down this year too. Guess there's still spring to come down and meet everyone.

Enjoy the weekend, looking forward to some great pics to follow!

I did alot of research on the "Little Buddy" and mostly saw good reviews for them. Looks like I should get about 5 hours of run time which should be more than enough for the nights there. I like the built in safety features, tip over switch and O2 sensor too. I've been wanting one for awhile now and finally bit the bullet and bought one. I'll definitely bring extra 1lb propane bottles just in case....
Looking forward to seeing everybody again.
Sorry to hear about the guys having to back out but, I myself almost wasn't able to make this trip so....I understand. Hopefully see you guys next time!
