That's a bummer, only once a year. You, slainer or ruination or anybody needs to crash I have #45 with just a SMALL camper and truck. If Janet doesn't care you can crash here but I'm not sure about the neighborhood.

OK Folks,
Looks like we will be making the trip down next week.

We may leave on Wednesday evening and camp along the way. Looking at occoneecee state park in va. Would probably be arriving around midnight there. Then finishing the drive early Thursday morning. Otherwise we would leave around 5am on Thursday and get to URE around 2 or 3pm.

Thanks man, I appreciate it. I have a campsite reserved Thurs-Sun, 33 I believe. If anyone wants it, I'll take a bribe of $20

Would give it away but I have some legal costs coming up

I can't say that I am especially looking forward to the drive down, especially towing our camper. Hopefully it will be an uneventful trip down and back. :D

The longest I have towed our camper with the trooper is about 5 hours. Mostly 45 to 55 mph roads around 200 miles. This will be mostly highway driving at 65 and twice the mileage.

Thank you.

I drive it in 3rd on the highway unless it's really flat, then I will switch to drive. I really haven't noticed any real difference in fuel economy though.

Once you get past Richmond it's a sweet drive.
Same on return leg. Sunday afternoon between Richmond and DC bites. I just find a semi that I can pace well with and sit about 1/4 mile behind him keeping pace in the right lane. Low stress and the fools get bored and move on. If you can head out Wed am early we can roll together. I'll be towing as well. I'll be leaving Westmonster area about <5am.

I think you are due to make a trip where you don't seriously break something!

Though you do tend to be a carnage magnet.

My wife is planning our menu out for next week. Do you guys do some kind of pot luck dinner one night?

Looks like that Wal-mart in Troy is the place to shop for groceries?

There is also a Food Lion @ 1020 Albemarle Road in Troy which is where I personally go most of the time. The Eldorado Outpost has a decent collection of basic items too in the event you're an idiot like me and forget something really important... not that I've ever done that or anything. ;)

I was also going to broach the subject of food - I'd be happy to help out and/or contribute to a group dinner if people are interested, just let me know!

That sounds like a great idea! Can I move in with you for awhile, rent free of course :P

Found out this weekend the 240 is gonna need a new steering rack, so site 33 has been cancelled. Maybe I'll see yall in Oct, take plenty of pics/videos!

@ Dylan - sorry you won't be able to make it out! I will very likely continue my routine of going monthly, if you have an interest in making a trip at some point before October let me know.

I'll be arriving Thursday probably around 1-2pm and will likely hit the trails for a few hours, "the kids" will be coming out Friday late morning. Look forward to seeing everyone!
