I used this post for preparing for my body lift/swap. Thanks for the info. I did a 2" lift on my amigo.

HELP: Broke the plastic socket on the main stick-shift

This is a great thread. It said here to carefully remove the plastic bits off the manual gearshift sticks when welding them up 3 inch longer. In attempting this, the plastic ball-and-socket thingy broke in half. Not careful enough, I guess, but few details were given as to how.

Q. How can I get another plastic socket on the main gearshift?

Q2: Failing that new ones are no longer available, how does one remove a plastic clawed-socket off the stick-shift's ball without it breaking?
