Snowflake correct lugs and lug nuts size?

Postby Tamar » Tue Oct 25, 2016 8:05 pm

I bought some used Snowflake 15" rims. I'm stripping off the clear coat and getting ready to have them mounted.
They did not come with the lug nuts. I have a 1989 Trooper 4 door manual with auto locking hubs. It came with the basic steel 15" rims. The trim that came with my truck has a flange around the lugs. When you put on a lug nut you first put on an aluminum spring washer, washer then lug nut.

I'm wondering do I need to change the studs? Do I need different lug nuts?

Do you need to use the spring washer and washer on the snowflakes or just a beveled lug nut?

Pretty sure I used beveled lug nuts on mine. Can't remember whether the steelie lugnuts will work. Spring washer and washer not necessary. The snowflake center cap is attached with 3 machine screws from the back side of the wheel.

You're gonna want a set of "mag wheel" lug nuts, as the lugs will be exposed. Snowflake wheels take a beveled lug nut.

Thread size M12-1.50, around 35mm length. Keep in mind the lug nut needs to be long enough so that the wheel stud won't bottom out on the closed end.

Here's a selection of lug nuts at Rockauto to take a look at:
