New wheel decals

Postby jc_in_az » Fri Nov 25, 2016 5:22 pm

The center decal on my old ASA rims were losing the battle with the sun. So I hit up Ebay from some Isuzu resin decals that happen to fit perfectly.

Postby jc_in_az » Tue Jan 10, 2017 2:05 am

Decided to change up the front lights to something a little brighter than the curved LED bar.

Run-D amber cubes (Amazon). $107 for the pair. No wiring harness.

No problem. These lights are FAR brighter than those amber bulbs I put in the fog lights.

Man I love you build so much!!! Especially the color on there. Mine is currently red and could use a respray on the roof and one quarter panel. Did you end up spraying all the door jambs, engine and trunk compartments also?

No. Just the outside. The jambs are the factory green as you can see in the first page of my build. I would've had to let the guy keep it an additional week, which would've jacked the price up more. It's only a trail rig, after all.

On the first Page of this build you mentioned that you would move the light bar in the grill if it caused heat problems. Did it end up having any effect on the engines temperature, or did you just like it better somewhere else. I was looking at doing a similar change to my Trooper and yours looked quite nice. I was also looking at placing a light bar where you have your wench, I do like the idea of a wench there much better.

I moved it because I thought it was creating a cooling issue. My Trooper started running hot. But when I removed it, it still ran hot. Turns out it was the radiator and fan clutch. The Trooper was so new to me that I didn't know the cooling was an issue beforehand. After removing it and installing a new grill, I gave up on the idea of putting the light back.

As for the winch location... it'll be a helluva lot easier to install a light in that bumper opening than installing a winch. It just depends on your needs and abilities to weld.

Ok, thanks a lot. I do think that I will be getting a winch at some point (once I get some more money), so I will probably be going with the grill lights.
By the way I love your Trooper build, I've been following it for several months now and it looks great.

Thanks! That would be cool. Our group has mainly stayed out near Wickenburg for the wheeling so far. Not sure what the summer will bring though. Only a couple of us have air conditioning. LOL
