Got my 31's installed and I am pleased on both the price and the look, I will post up a couple of pictures next week. Tomorrow I am heading out to the hills for a couple of days. I will get a couple of picts of the camping trip also. I plan on going up into a canyon that almost no one goes to.

Well that camping trip went very well. Trooper ran great and the new tires worked out well. I only took a couple of picts of the camp and haven't loaded up the picts. I got in the canyon I wanted to but it was still to wintery. I forded a stream about 3 times its normal size, busted through a bunch of downed branches and had to get through a snow drift on the road. Then I turned around and went back down the canyon to a nice spot. And had to go back through all of the stuff I mentioned. It was great! My speedo is off now due to the larger tires but not by much. So today I swapped out a speedo gear I have been saving for sometime. It should put the speedo closer to right. I will check with the GPS on the way to work in the morning. I also needed to get into the AC not working so I tacked that over the weekend. It is still not right but I have changed out some components and finally got the darn thing to take some freon. It is blowing cool around town but not cold. I am still low on pressure and will pick up one more this week. Does not appear to be leaking at this point anyway. And I adjusted the parking brake.

Not much has happened lately, just work and been working on the fences falling down around the house. AC is still not working, changed a bunch of components but I have a guy working with me and I think we narrowed it down to the compressor. No problem or so I thought, I have a spare. Yeah it is junk too. The new one one is sitting in the front seat now. We had planned on putting it in on Friday afternoon and work got in the way. But one thing I did get done last week was to do the round eye conversion that was sitting in the garage. Looks way better. I know I keep promising pictures, it will happen someday. Really want the AC to work! Maybe in time for winter!

After a couple of bouts of being sick and work being nuts, I finally got the AC working as of tonight. We converted it to 134A so it will be easy to recharge it. We pulled a vacuum for about only 20 minutes but it pulled down nicely and then we charged it up. My guy got it down to 49 degrees at an idle with outside temp of 82 degrees. It was kind of a hurry up deal as he is going on vacation and we had had nothing but problems getting it to work. We did find out that the system was plugged up to begin with. But on my freeway trip home it worked great. Made me quite happy.

Over the past several years and trucks I've had under my care, I have yet to fix an AC system, so I'm extremely impressed! Dennis has mentioned doing a vacuum on the system to me anytime I've made my feeble attempts on repairs, do you own a unit? Borrow one? Rent one? Also, do you vacuum from the high port or low port?

Enjoy your cool ride!!

We have a vacuum pump at work, and since I am the mechanics supervisor, he helps me out. I think most of the time I am his helper. Pulling a vacuum helps to remove moisture and allows the 134 to work properly. Alot of folks use the off the shelf stuff, including me in the past. You pull through the low side. I had replaced some of the major components trying to get this thing to work, so I bought the 134 stuff.

Wow! 2 1/2 months since I last put anything on this. Not much to say just been working, spent 2 months on the Spacecab, had to replace the engine on it. I had one in the shed and it runs nice. Back to the Trooper. It has been parked since I got the Spacecab up and running, thought today we would give it some exercise. I did fail to mention that my brother bought an 88 Trooper about 3 weeks ago. So it is running and we decided to make a Trooper trip to our favorite spot. Normally it is under snow this time of year but we are lacking in that right now. It could change tomorrow as snow is predicted for tonight and tomorrow. I will throw up a few pictures of the past 6 months or so. Camping in the spring, a run to Reno to take a load off of Barts collection and if you notice maybe a few changes to the Trooper that I have mentioned a few times above.

Couple more, this is the old town of Metropolis NV, This is the only standing structure, I think it is the old school. I have driven past this for years and never made it to the actual site. It was a massive building for only a 30 year lifespan. We drove about 160 miles total and both Troopers ran fantastic.

I have been driving this one the most through the winter, but for the past few days I have been doing a little repairs here and there. I replaced the rear brakes, calipers and rotors and re-adjusted the parking brake. So much more quiet when reversing. I also replaced my muffler (glasspak) with a turbo muffler. It was just to loud when I got on it. I had to replace the starter today also. Thew a little grease at it and then I removed the roof rack for a quick trip to Salt Lake. Darn think cuts my MPG by about 1-2 MPG. And I am not hauling anything this trip.
On another note I had to go out last weekend and pull my nephew out of the mud twice. His is a newer F-150 and had good tires but not good enough for mud. It was fun and I ran circles around him. Spent the next morning washing off the mud. Sorry, didn't have time for picts. It was getting late in the day.

Made the trip to Salt Lake and back, it ran great. About 500 miles total. I rarely put that many miles on my Isuzu's at one time. But right now they are my only source of transportation.

The first tank was about 17.5 and the last tank was right on 20 MPG. Not bad for a 3.4 cruising at 75 MPH.

No I didn't do the cam on this one, I have the low end I need, but on the top end is lacking. I took off the roof basket for this trip and that made a difference. I have another bored 3.1 that I did all the goodies on, cam, roller rockers, oversized pistons etc ect. But that one was loosing oil pressure after 20 minutes so I put it back on a stand for future use. And that is where it is still. I think I lost one of the bearings and lately I have been thinking on ordering a crank kit for it while I can still get one.
The engine in the trooper now is a stock 3.4 from a 95 Camero, It has real good numbers and I just put it in and hoped for the best. It runs great so I decided not to mess with it.
I was planning on getting rid of a bunch of this stuff, my wife and I inherited her childhood home and we were going to go there, but now I am just going to stay where I am at with all my Isuzu engines and transmissions and just keep on playing with these silly machines.
