I'm with you on the pitfalls of the all black look. Should have held out for an orange Amigo body.

If you go for the brightwork look, here's an idea for the front bumper. It would take some of the visual weight off of the front by blackening out the middle.

So, I sold my Calmini track bar to a fellow planet member (Nislo) and going to make my own link. What I know the calmini bar is 1 1/8 thick, I'm planning on making my new bar out of 1" tubing with .25 thick also going to make it adjustable with poly bushings and grease zerks.

Got my new track bar done today, gonna paint and then install tomorrow. I'll post some pics after its all installed.

Also I made my own steering spacer for my intermediate shaft, I trust my welds ok but not really on steering bits. The spacer should work just a good and it can just come out if I need it too.

I may need to trim some of this inner fender abit, as it just scrubs on the tire when turned to full lock and its flexed up. Definitely need to trim abit if I get bigger tires.

Some updates completed.

didn't like my welding so I made a steering ext from some Al. works great. If anyone needs one let me know.

Here is a pic of my new longer adj. track bar.

Also got my CB installed, with firestick. And some d-rings on the updated rear bumper.

I was having issues still with tires rubbing so I hacked the backside of the front fender for more flex room.

Thanks, It's a constant work in progress.

I also ended up bypassing the factory Alarm system, it kept going off at 3 in the morning for some reason. I hardwired it and removed the box. If anyone wants to know how, let me know its not difficult.

That's crazy about the alarm. Maybe Meego is rejecting its new body.

Got my HD lower links on. It was a bear to break the bolts loose. Had to visit Jerry to use his big impact gun.

They are nice greaseable and adj links.

Goes well with the track bar
plex_wp_edited_image(4).jpg

Also got some 2" wheel spacers to play with. May look at some 315/75s for this rig.

So I got my HD lower links installed and adjusted, the oems were a pain to get off, had to visit Jerry and use his 3/4 drive impact.

Here are my new HD greaseable and adj lower links.

Here are some pics with the 2" wheel spacers, they aren't too obnoxious. I still think some bigger tires would be nice.

I was thinking of hitting it with something and then putting a Isuzu badge from a 1st gen trooper on it. Seeing the stock one is hidden behind it., some 255/85s or some 295/75s would work.

Anyone need a good set fo 265/75-16 cooper disco at3s?

They are on my vx but I may be willing to do some trading or something depending what you have for my rodeo if you want to pm me. Awesome thread. Well, I made it up to Uwharrie on Saturday, just to have to turn back home and take care of some family matters. It was a long 10 hrs in the car, for a small meet and greet with the guys and some light duty trail riding. I did pick up a new top I got earlier, Thanks again Superman.

I snapped acouple pics before I left.
Uwharrie.jpg

When I drove up to meet everyone, I saw Ssiggys Amigo and I was having horrible flashbacks and started getting tired just thinking of all the work that needed to be done. I don't know what it is, 2nd gens love ending up on their roof, Cronk, Me, and now Ssiggy. Glad no one was hurt badly, but it does suck. Makes a good story though.

Leaving.jpg

I plan on doing this again in the spring, maybe we can meet up closer to home and try some trails in North GA before the end of the year or before spring Uwharrie.

Made it home with a new to me top and some extra Zu goodies. Even parked in the grass, just because.

Postby egagnon086 » Mon Dec 05, 2016 2:05 pm

Went for a drive in the N. Ga woods last weekend. It was a blast, Just me a older Toyota truck made it. It had some tricky trails. I'll have to add it to my normal route in the mtns for sure. I got some pics, some posted below, and videos that I'll post on you tube after some editing for length.

Near Suches GA
gulley 3 (577x1024).jpg

gulley 5 (577x1024).jpg

You can see a smallish ledge on the "wall" where my tires was driving, before it slipped down.
Meego 3 (1024x577).jpg

Flex (1024x577).jpg

To get up I had to drive into the "wall" abit to keep the tires planted, I got to one spot with a lot of wet leaves on it and the wheel slipped and luckily my mirror was in or else it would of broken off. driver wheel was in a 3 ft rut compared to the passenger side.

A lot of creek crossings here, washed a lot of mud off
Meego (1024x577).jpg

Definitely need a locker to get up most of they hills and as much axle clearance as possible. It really made me wish I still had the locker in the back and I will be wishing for some wider tires for sure, and M/Ts.

I have a front aussie locker and my rebuilt Trac loc got me up this hill. The guys who rebuilt the trac loc said they added an additional washer in it to get it to "lock better". It seemed to stay locked pretty good, under power I can chirp my tires. I actually stuffed my front wheel at one point over a boulder, I didn't even recognize what it was at first. The top of my tire to any part of the wheel well is almost 8 inches. I wish I could of gotten a pic of that.

I think maybe for tax time looking at a rear locker, better shocks, 33X12.5 or better MTs. I will need a clutch sooner rather than later, and my Revos installed. Paging Lorenzo...

If anyone is around N. GA and wants to go wheeling sometime let me know, we have some great trails and forest rds. I'll show you around.
