It was colder than I can remember the first couple of days. Actually, I think it was warmer when we went in April :?
New muffler is much MUCH quieter, has a nice smooth throaty sound :D

Cool !! How's the gas mileage , better or worse ?? Are you still running the 2.8 or have you upgraded ?

I need to add a new muffler to mine too.

BTW I was at the Pick A Part on 17th and they have a lot of new Isuzu's there. One was a first gen Trooper with round headlights and grill. I believe the same color interior as yours too.

Still running the very tired 2.8. I need to pick up a 3.4 this summer. Mileage is about the same, right around 17/18. The old muffler was pretty much "Open" I doubt more than 50% of the exhaust stream made it out the tailpipe

I saw that one. I didn't find much on it that I really needed. I would have taken the windshield, but those guys want too much for it. Their price is $87.50. I got one at Tear-a-part in SLC last weekend for $25.00 I did get a really nice carpet and shift boot out of that red '95 rodeo.

Yeah, I really haven't done anything new to my rig for a while. I guess I could put up the pic of the new light bar.

I like that, usually they are mounted overhead and I would think the glare would blind you. I also like the corner lights! Been thinking about getting a small set of round lights to mount on my bumper. I have a factory fog light switch I picked up a few years back and would like to use it. The reason I would go with round as I have the round eye conversion done and I have a Smittybuilt tube bumper in the back shed waiting to see daylight. Looking forward to meeting folks!

My poor Trooper has sustained several shots like this over the past little while, even with me being extremely careful while out on the trails. The damage troubled me initially, but I've been shifting my perspective to it just being part of the truck's story which at the end of the day I'd rather be filled with adventures and great memories.

I hope you had fun in Moab, I'd love to see some other pictures!

They never do. :)

It is impossible to describe, in words or pictures, the beauty and vastness of the landscape or the incredible diversity of the trails. You truly must experience it for yourself.
Fins 'n' things is the hardest easy trail and the one I take every first-timer on. I always tell them " You are going to drive up and down some stuff today that you never thought you would, and we're going to get a picture of you on three wheels before this is over." And they say "Oh hell no." but then they do it. :D

That is the most positive answer from Brad yet! X2 on the wait till next spring. Donner, I have a bumper that is straighter than yours, one is chrome and the other I can't remember. It is out in the shed. If you ever are close to Elko let me know, you can have it. I also have a set of seats from a LS with armrests that I could part with for not so much. They are grey, have the back seat also.

Thanks for the offer. I still have 1 more good bumper here and I'm good on the interior stuff, but I'll keep that in mind.

Re: My '91 Trooper "Lucile"

Postby Donner » Tue Apr 05, 2016 7:03 pm

In light of being nominated for ROTM, I suppose this deserves an update. Lucile is alive and well, though I have certainly neglected her these past few months with the move and all. She won't be able to make the Moab trip this year because of needing a new clutch (among other things). But I've promised to do her up right as soon as I have the shop set up.

More to come. ...
