I got the Firestone air bags and Helwig rear swaybar installed. These should help when hauling the camper.

Really nice looking installation. The sway bar should be a big help. Do you have a compressor in the truck for the air bags, or do you have to visit the local seven eleven gas station and pay for air?

I know he took some pics of the rig, as I was there helping him load the camper onto the Tundra. But, I guess he is too busy drinking beer at the Outer Banks to post them.

Yea, I spoke with him on Sun. He was working hard sitting on the beach and checking the cooling capacity of his 12 volt fridge by sampling its contents. Life is hard when you are retired.

HB I carry an MV50 portable compressor. But once they are aired up at home I just don't touch them unless I let air out to level the camper.

Quick pics. I'll write more in both this thread and camper thread when I get a chance. The jacks come off for travel.

We are looking at step options. But at the moment the little step ladder works pretty well and is light, and easy to store.

I have a receiver mounted step that I had on my VX for a while. It pretty much comes straight out at the same height as the receiver and was maybe 24" wide and just like a nerf step bar. I used it more for rear end protection since I didn't want to replace any cladding. Something like that looks like it might work.

Need more than one step and still need to use the receiver for towing.

DOH! Holy crap that's a good idea for mine. I welded a bit of receiver tube to the bottom of my front bumper, I can make a receiver mounted work platform/step for when I'm working under the hood of my truck... the top of the bumper is too high for that.

That slide in looks really great on the Tacoma.

Stock tires pretty much suck. Truck is currently stuck in the back yard down the hill a bit. I'll wait for the ground to freeze so I can drive it out.

I just today remembered I have a brand new Superwinch 9,500lb winch in the basement. So today I ordered a front receiver hitch and a portable winch mount so I can use the winch in it.

Now I'll be able to use the winch on any of my trucks receiver hitches.

Another option is to back the truck over to the wood pile and fill up the bed. The extra weight way help.

The truck is unstuck and out of the backyard. It dried up a little today. I managed to get it moving downhill a little and got some momentum and just drove a big loop and kept enough speed to get up the drive.

Now on to get some better tires!

I had the same problem with the tires that came on the Expedition. Once I swapped to the Cooper A/T that I have now, the traction control doesn't kick in half as much.

I think I'm going with Coopers this time myself. Looking hard at the Cooper ST Maxx. Hybrid between AT + MT. Price local is pretty much the same as BFG AT's.

I ran the old Cooper STT MT's on the Powerwagon and liked them.
