Humming's cars, don't judge.

Postby humming » Sun Jul 17, 2016 5:07 pm

This vehicle is going away soon as it's been replaced by Stormy for DD status, but I thought I'd toss it up here in case anyone has similar taste in cars.

2005 mazdaspeed miata, 1.8L, turbocharged, fun as can be in corners, orange.

Mods were the rollbar, speedhut boost gauge, flyin miata intake, catless down pipe, HKS blow off valve, hood vent, koyo aluminum radiator, spal fans, some custom heat shields, and a few other items.

So I've got the trooper now, the miata is going away, and I'll start working on my next project which I've had longer than any of them, but done nothing with so far:

Nothing to judge. While I'm not a big Miata fan, that one looks kind of fun. Then i scrolled down and saw the Z and my heart skipped a beat. Looks pretty striaght, but the rust trouble spots aren't visible from this angle. W/O side badges, can't tell for sure but 71-73 240 or possibly early 260 (which I had and miss). Dennis

Its a 73 240Z. The plan is to fix the rust, do minor body work but not full show car stuff. Have a gutted interior with a basic cage. Convert to a fuel injection and electronic ignition setup of my own design. Then throw some sticky tires on it and enjoy it forever.

Miata's are a blast to drive. Not scary near death experience blast like my Ranchero was... just FUN. My cousin road races a Miata.

Dated a woman that had a Miata. Her and that car were a lot alike... a blast... but otherwise pretty useless.
