Well, I did it, I committed to a vehicle payment. Took new job and was back to daily driving the Rodeo about 50 miles a day. Unfortunately though, I ended up repairing something every week too. I guess sitting for such a long period of time took a toll. It was time to move to a newer vehicle, so I shopped around. I wanted a V8 Colorado but the low mile one I went to look has a severely rusted frame. On the way home, I drove by the Dealer lot and saw a 2015 Colorado with only 10000 miles. I decided to schedule a test drive. Truck was an executive model with a few gear on accessories added. Long story short, I Ended up buying the truck. The price deference was 10k less than list, I was happy letting someone else eat the depreciation. So here we are a month later still happy with my purchase.
Specs: 3.6 liter 305 hp, Z71 package, remote start, back up camera, heated seats, xm radio and on star. Has the gear on bed divider, trailering package and soft bed cover.
So far the mileage has been pretty good. I'm getting 22-24 mph on my commute. My best 25 mile average has been 30.2 mpg and best 50 mile average has been 27. I like the extra horsepower. Being me, I have toyed around with it a bit at work. I'll tell you that the limited slip works great and so does the 4x. I believe I'm going to need to remove the front valence panel as I have scraped it on more than one curb and dug into a dirt ramp when I decided to drive instead of walk. The onstar is a bit weird, I'll likely let it lapse. The internet package doesn't work too well in our area and calling someone for directions is pretty much pointless with a smart phone. I do like the app though, it's pretty cool to be able to see where you vehicle is and to remote start it from anywhere.
I am planning to add body color rough country flares and get a leveling kit. Later on, a better set of tires will be added. I'll probably make a set of nerf bars for it. Also toying with the idea of putting D-max emblems on it.
The Rodeo will be driven intermittently to preserve the miles on the Colorado. Rodeo will serve as my off roader - expo rig. I have this great plan to drive it on a massive road trip including Alaska, if and when I get the back half trailer done. We'll see.
