Selling 1989 isuzu trooper which has a 4 cylinder motor and a manual 5 speed transmission. It is older and has some things that need to fixed but it's all cosmetic stuff. Comes with roof rack, winch, kc lights nice back bumper and has a couple spare tires. The inside also has a c.b. that can be hooked up. This is a small project car but runs and drives well.

1977 Isuzu 117 GT $14,000 OBO - (Clinton WA)

Postby Ed Mc. » Fri Dec 02, 2016 3:25 am

Talk about a rare beast! And what a beauty.

https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/cto/5901701433.html

Very solid good driving Isuzu 117 GT original twin cam engine with dual 2 bbl side draft carbs, 4 speed gearbox. that shifts smoothly. Nice paint good tires strong engine mostly original interior in very good condition. Two minor issues the oil pressure gauge does not work and the turn signals do not work. Much work has been done on this great old JDM sports coupe, far more invested than the asking price.
Not terribly interested in trades. Realistic offers please.

1993 Spacecab 4x4 5-speed or trade. - $550 (Federal Way, WA)

Postby Ed Mc. » Tue Dec 13, 2016 3:34 am

It's a Spacecab of many colors. Or a Christmas Spacecab.

Either way, it's a Spacecab 4x4 for $550! Replace the bad clutch master cyl, bump start 'er and drive home!

https://seattle.craigslist.org/skc/cto/5873112283.html

pick up needs a starter, master clutch cylinder (have used one), and a good wash. Has new carpet. 225K miles. a tree fell on the hood and dented all cosmetic parts that are now different color. (no frame damage). I had a blown rodeo(green) around so I replaced damaged parts.
Use it for parts or fix it and drive it.

will trade for: kid quad(needs repair ok), small trailer, popup camper, truck studded snow tires 18", dirt bike, 4-wheeler, hunting stuff that goes bang, let me know what you got.

1986 Isuzu Trooper 2 ... $4600 ... Phoenix

Extremely nice and original Isuzu Trooper II. This is an example of one that has been cared for. Nearly perfect body, shiny original paint, clean interior, all plastics/dash in excellent condition, gauges all work. Trim and glass excellent. Never been in an accident showing 128K on the odometer. This is a 30 year old rig, that makes for just over 4K miles per year.

New tires on original factory alloys, new brakes, new shocks, new battery, recent tuneup and just had oil changed, AC blows cold, bullet proof 2.3 4 cylinder with a 5 speed. 4WD with auto hubs, it all works great. Starts, runs and drives perfect just like it did when it was new. Tracks down the freeway at highway speeds (75-80mph) no problem, goes anywhere off road.

Great rig to completely restore, drive as is or make into a crawler. Everyone loves it and asks what it is regularly. You will be hard pressed to find another in this condition and intact

Re: ZuZu 3.1 Pickup

Postby Ed Mc. » Wed Dec 28, 2016 4:10 pm

That's pretty low miles and the V6 4WD pickup is getting harder and harder to find. If the block isn't destroyed (i.e. rod thru the side), the engine can be rebuilt to "3.2" specs (i.e. an overbore).

You don't even need to swap crankshafts or pistons 'cause it's already a 3.1. If the crank is bad, there are plenty of replacements 'cause any crank out of a 3.1/3100/3.4/3400 will work.

Or, maybe there are a bunch of 3.4 F-bodies sitting around in the wrecking yards down there. Good source for a runner/rebuild.

G'luck, hope you get hold of the seller.......ed

He may have edited it, because now it's $700. It's a gas 4wd 1984 P'up, in need of a carb and who knows what else (for those who may wonder, after the listing is gone).

1990 4x4 2.6 Pickup $900 - (Port Orchard, WA)

Postby Ed Mc. » Wed Jan 04, 2017 8:54 pm

Here's another 4x4 pickup, this one needs a head gasket. Got plenty of dents but has a nice set of Snowflakes, and the interior looks very clean.

https://seattle.craigslist.org/kit/cto/5942611512.html

1990 Isuzu 4x4 Pick up. Needs a head gasket and muffler. It starts and runs. 5 speed manual shift, locking hubs, new carpet kit, distributor, timing belt, thermostat, heater core, belts, plugs and wires. New brakes and rotors. This is not a perfect truck but with a little work it could be a good one. 177,000 miles. Clean title in hand. No Trades.

Just my $0.02 (USD) worth, but if it's a listing that was reported here on this thread, it's fair game for comments/questions. There seems to be a long-standing precedent for that. I'd advise using the "quote" method to post your questions, since you'd be referring to a specific listing, and there are hundreds, if not thousands in the thread.

If it's not listed here, you could share the Craigslist link in your post AND ask questions.

Again, that's just my two cents worth. Others may have a different perspective.

2000 Trooper $800 - (Lynwood, WA)

Postby Ed Mc. » Sat Jan 07, 2017 12:18 am

Don't know what "TLC" it needs, but pretty cheap for one that runs and drives.

Body looks fairly straight in the pics except for some misalignment going on with the driver's side hood/grille/bumper.

'90 LS V6 5-Speed - $1200 (Kingston, WA)

Postby Ed Mc. » Sat Jan 07, 2017 7:41 pm

It's my blue LS! Well, one just like it minus the 3.4, and Snowflakes.

Passed the Denver, CO to WA trip test, that's a plus!

Catch the Edmonds ferry to Kingston and drive it away!

1990 Isuzu Trooper runs and drives great, no major issues. Driven from Denver Colorado a couple weeks ago and had no issues.

Cool looking OD-green RS for sale in Birmingham. At $4200, it's too rich for my blood, but a nice example of a clean RS. Did these ever come in a V6 variety, as the ad says? I thought they were only four-cylinders.

Re: Craigslist deals

Postby Ed Mc. » Tue Jan 10, 2017 12:41 am

If it has a 2.8, someone put it in there. Plus the V6 tranny and all the ECM wiring to support the engine. It would be a very cool mod if it's indeed so.

Which would also lend itself to replacing the 2.8 with a performance-built 3.1, or the ultimate, a built Camaro/Firebird 3.4. With significantly less weight than a 4-door Trooper, short wheelbase, and close to 200hp, it would be a Blast to drive!

That's what I thought about the '89 RS I had for a while, if only it had a V6! I'd say an offer in the $3500 Cash range would be more reasonable, if it did have a V6 in it.

Even if it's a 4-cyl, with a Jerry Cam, Pacesetter Header and improved exhaust, it'll drive really nice. But IMHO I wouldn't give as much for it in that case.

Definitely a non-stock color but I like it.

Might be a bit steep but they're certainly not making any more of these; the condition and supposed V6 make it a Rare Beast indeed!
