Have you replaced engine mount? Need locate the right part

Postby kenji187 » Thu Jan 12, 2017 3:11 am

I'm at the 7th month restoring this 2002 Trooper 3.5 and 1 step away from putting the engine back-in but found that one of the engine mounts from Rockauto was completely wrong.
Borrowing eBay picture for demonstration:

The Right should be an identical flip of the Left.
However I can't seem to find the Right one. Everywhere I looked they all have the wrong one. Every aftermarket brands all carry the wrong one.
(well I did find an aftermarket one on eBay but this guy is playing MIA after I placed order for 3 days I doubt he really has it)
How did you guys find yours?

There are aftermarket ones for Honda Passport and look identical. Are they interchangeable?

I know I can get OEM but I need it AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
Wife's car broke down and this car has been occupying the driveway for 7 months now, WIFE IS PISSED.

If I can't get this truck running before this weekend wife will be more pissed.

If Honda one works I'll call my local dealer first thing tomorrow and get it locally, otherwise I don't know what my options are.

I tried to match the part numbers.
Isuzu 8-97104-157-1
Honda 8-97365-793-0

They are not the same.

Anyone?

Both mounts are different. Not interchangeable from left to right. See my attached pics from a rebuild I did last year.

No my question was can I use one from Honda Passport 3.2L?

I ordered Westar EM-5814 which is made for Trooper 3.2. From picture it looked alike but turns out it's a little off about 1/2 too high installed height.
I decided to put the original one back in. It's gone through 254K miles but only showing very little crack. A little softer than brand new aftermarket but I guess I don't have other choice.

This issue seems to come up frequently. I'd love to hear how RockAuto responded to this. ;)
