Wiper arm bushings gen1 Trooper

Postby steve mortillaro » Mon May 01, 2017 6:15 am

Anyone knows what works to help stop the wipers from being sloppy. Is there anything off the shelf at a parts store that can be made to fit? I am sure the bushings are shot.
Thanks

I just replaced the plastic bushing on my '99 Amigo and from the parts diagram, your rig uses the same kind. I replaced one of my bushings because it would pop off the ball whenever I used the front wipers. I replaced it and it is now working fine. I got the bushing at Napa and the part number is: #675-1596. There are only two in a package and I think it was around $10 for them.

The bushings are a tight fit into the holes of the linkage and they don't fair well if you try to pound them into place (I broke one doing that). The best way to do it is to set the bushing over the hole, make sure it is square/level on the hole and put it in a vise to press it into place with even and equal pressure on all the tabs.

Just for everybody's info, these bushings do not fit on a 1990 Trooper.

I'm sorry they didn't work. There is no part number listed on the Isuzu parts site and I too, had to buy several different kinds until I found ones that worked on my '99 Amigo. I tried looking on Partsgeek and the linkage for your Trooper and the bushings looked exactly what I had just bought and worked on my Isuzu. I apologize for steering you in the wrong direction and having to spend money on something that didn't fit. Very sorry.

No problem o. I managed to hack something with another variety pack of bushings and some wire. It's holding for now, until
I get the proper ones from Jerry.
