I used superbrightleds.com as my supplier for my inst. lights in my 89 Trooper. The speedometer and tach take the 194 bulbs and there are 2 in each. Don't make the same mistake I made. I got the .99 cent bulbs. They are not as bright as I would have liked. Get the upgraded ones with more leds. For the oil pressure, fuel level and water temp., they take a 74 bulb and on these I used the upgraded ones. They were 1.95 each. Had a little trouble installing them. When I put the bulb in the holder it was a tight fit, and it expanded the holder where it wouldn't fit it the hole in the back of the gauge. I used a drill to enlarge the hole ( careful) not to big, and they went right in. Overall, happy with them and they match (red) my radio. As a side note, they ship fast and there shipping is very reasonable. Also as another side note, the speedometer will be hard to pull out far enough to replace the bulbs. I got enough slack in the cable by freeing up all the clamps in the engine compartment and pushing the cable through the firewall till I could access the bulbs.

You mean the Red 1989 RS?

Pulled the bulb from my '84 Trooper and it measured 30-31mm in length. Pretty sure these are standard for all Gen-1 Troopers.

Superbright has been a good reliable vendor and I've done bidness with them for over 10 years.
Checked the website and they'll run you about $3-5 ea, one for front and one for cargo area -cover both ends for count of two total.

If you need crazy bright, you can easily mod one of these to fit into the housing and attach to the conectors ...

Thanks Mark,
May have to update my tach and speedometer to brighter bulbs as I should have done in the first place. Also I like the interior lights and get those as well. Yes, it's the 89 RS.

Can't believe I didn't get to this for almost a year, but anyway, just for anyone else doing a led bulb installation. Get the 5 tower led bulbs if your using colored ones. Maybe a white one would be enough light using just one tower led in the bulb, but for me, using the red color, the single led wasn't bright enough
